Pet owner registration

Veterinary preparations are dispensed against a prescription from a licensed veterinarian, in the same way human medications are dispensed against a prescriber’s. Registering as an owner gives you an account to send those prescriptions from.

How to register

1. Create an account with your own email address and a password — start here. The account is yours, not the animal’s; one account can hold prescriptions for several animals.
2. Confirm your email with the six-digit code we send you.
3. Send the prescription your veterinarian wrote, with the animal’s details.

What we ask about the animal

Name and species

Give the animal’s name where the form asks for the patient, and put the species and breed in the notes. A dose that is right for a 40kg dog is not right for a 4kg cat, and a pharmacist checks that.

Current weight

Please include it in the notes. Most veterinary preparations are dosed by weight, so a recent figure matters.

Veterinarian

The name of the practice and the veterinarian who wrote the prescription, so we can verify it if we need to.

The prescription

A clear photograph or PDF of the written prescription.

Flavours and dosing forms

The point of compounding for animals is getting the dose into the animal. If a tablet is being spat out, tell us — many preparations can be made as a flavoured chew, a liquid, or a transdermal gel applied to the ear instead. Ask a pharmacist on 832-886-4296 before you order and we will tell you what is possible for that drug.

Compounded veterinary preparations are not FDA-approved. They are prepared for one named animal on the order of a licensed veterinarian, who is responsible for deciding that a compounded preparation is appropriate.
