Return policy
Editor: this needs your pharmacist and your counsel before launch.
The page it replaced was WooCommerce’s sample text, which offered 30-day returns on unused items — the wrong promise for a pharmacy to make about dispensed medication. What follows is the shape of a pharmacy returns policy with the specifics marked TO CONFIRM. Fill those in against your state’s rules, then delete this notice.
Medication is not an ordinary purchase and it cannot be treated like one. Once a prescription has left the pharmacy we have no way to know how it was stored, so we cannot put it back into stock and we cannot dispense it to anyone else.
Dispensed medication cannot be returned
This is not a preference. A pharmacy may not resell or redispense a medication that has left its control, and a compounded preparation is made for one named patient in the first place. So a dispensed prescription is not returnable and not refundable, except in the cases below.
When we will put it right
Always tell us. If any of these apply, contact us and we will replace the item or refund it:
- We dispensed the wrong thing — wrong medication, wrong strength, wrong quantity, wrong patient.
- It arrived damaged — a broken container, a leaking bottle, a crushed carton.
- It arrived in a state that makes it unusable — a cold-chain item that arrived warm, or a preparation that has separated or discoloured.
- It never arrived.
- A pharmacist tells you to stop taking it because of something we found after dispensing.
Do not take a medication you think is wrong. Call us first.
Tell us quickly
Contact us within [TO CONFIRM: number] days of delivery. For anything temperature-sensitive, the same day it arrives if you can — a cold-chain problem is easiest to resolve while the packaging and its temperature indicator are still to hand.
How to report a problem
- Call 832-886-4296 and ask for a pharmacist.
- Have the order number ready, and keep the medication and its packaging.
- A photograph of the label and the packaging usually settles it without anything being posted back.
- A pharmacist decides what happens next — replacement, refund, or a return for disposal.
Please do not post medication back to us before we ask you to. There are rules about how returned medication is handled and we will tell you how.
Refunds where a prescription is never dispensed
Nothing is charged until a pharmacist has approved a prescription, so in most cases there is nothing to refund:
- A prescription we decline is never charged. If you were charged in error we refund it in full.
- A request you withdraw before we dispense is refunded in full.
- An order we cannot fill — a shortage, an ingredient we cannot source — is refunded in full, and we will tell you rather than leave it pending.
Refunds go back to the card that paid. Allow [TO CONFIRM: number] business days for it to appear.
Unwanted medication you already have
We cannot take it back, but do not put it in the bin or down the sink — see drug disposal for how to get rid of it safely.
Devices and unopened supplies
Items that are not medication — meters, lancets, test strips and similar — may be returnable if the packaging is unopened and intact.
[TO CONFIRM: whether you accept these, within how many days, and whether a restocking fee applies.]
